Guests users are allowed to make edits and changes in an item. why are they not allowed to see what they have changed in the item activity log ?
Guests have restricted access to certain features and views in Monday.com. Their permissions are intentionally limited to ensure they can only interact with the items or boards they are assigned to, without accessing sensitive or administrative data, including detailed activity logs.
The whole idea of the shareable board was to collaborate with guests. now we are moving towards limitation ?. For the last 5 years this feature was there and suddenly one day it disappears with out notice ?. can i trust monday.com credibility ? i am starting to doubt that.
I donât get why they removed that eitherâŠ
I also wanted to add my vote on why this feature was removed? I just realized that today when my team notify me that they can no longer trace back on their activity and to see what went wrong with the status.
I was told this was a bug that was recently fixed and thatâs why all of our guests on our projects lots visibility to the activity on the boards shared with them. For a âbugâ to be there for this many years is hard to believe. Seems to be a way to try to require more paid seats, but the problem is that our customers we collaborate with in monday will never have paid seats in our account. So this only serves to irritate customers who keep getting price increases on every renewal. Software is supposed to scale and become less expensive to run over time, not more expensive. #endrant
Adding my vote for this feature, guests should be able to view item activity log.
Our clients are not pleased that this has suddenly disappeared, that they have had for years.
This is a horrible âbug fixâ. Just like others in this thread, our customers are now complaining about this and it adds significant barriers to our interactions and efficiency with them.
The logic posed by @ZakiImtiaz has some merit, but the right way to handle that would be to either add an elevated guest role/ability, or to not show activity for columns hidden from that user. The former option would make more sense given there can be item-level restriction for a given user.
Also, the perspective @ZakiImtiaz is clearly not the overriding/only one that matters, as can be seen in every other comment on this thread.
I strongly support the request to keep the feature allowing guests to view the item activity log. This functionality has been crucial for our clients, and its sudden removal has caused significant inconvenience. Restoring this feature would greatly enhance our user experience and client satisfaction.
