Add item subscribers to subitems

We have a use case for an automation that enables the subscribers of an item to be added as subscribers of subitems when they are created on that item.

Currently when a design request is received it creates a new item and the designer picking up the job uses an automation to create the required subitems for the request. There’s no way to have the requestor added as a subscriber on these subitems, so we rely on manual addition and updates to keep the requestor informed of progress.

I’m sure this is a common requirement, but It looks like there’s nothing like this right now.

We developed an app that solves this exact pain point of subitems inherting column value from parent. It’s called Subitem Automations and it allows to do this on subitem creation and when the parent item changes, here’s an example -

If the requestor is assigned to the parent item you can easily add them to the subitems automatically →
