The “new email” draft view available on the E&A section of an expanded item view allows for attaching files, however, it only allows attaching a file from either your computer or the file column. It does not allow attaching a file from the ‘files’ tab on the item you are interacting with. This seems like a huge miss. In addition to being unable to attach files to an email from the files tab (where I store all my files relating to a specific deal), I am unable to sync the uploaded files of the files tab with the files column. This both seem like natural operations. The consequence is it requires significantly more operations and duplication of file storage in order to attach files to an email.
TL;DR: allow for attaching files to an email pulled from the “files” tab of an item.
Completely agree. I know this is a somewhat older feature request, but I had exactly this issue today.
In my opinion, Emails & Activities should have an option to upload from the Files tab in addition to from the Files column. So I am definately not saying the files column should not exist, but for use with Emails & Activities, it is in my opinion a redundant column.
You can use EasyMails app, you can use drag and drop template designer, easily upload files directly from your board column, and seamlessly integrate your board data into your email content.
It’s like having Mailchimp inside monday .com
While we are at it: The Emails and activities app also doesn’t support uploading files from mirrored files comumns. This should also be possible in my opinion.
It does seem odd that you can’t attach files directly from the “files” tab, especially when you’ve got everything neatly organized there. They’ll roll out an update soon to streamline that process.
Seems like a nice app, but for me it is not what I need. All our mails need files attached that are only for that single receiver. The templates - which also should be available to other seats, imo - we use as a basis. Every single mail is personalised due to the nature of the service we provide.
