Hi there, I’m currently trying to set up an automation that, when a subitem due date arrives, it would send me a message on Slack listing the subitem name. I’ve managed to set up an automation for the item but not the subitems within it, and I’d love to have the name of the subitem in the message.
As an example, having a Slack message telling me “onboarding is due” is not that helpful, but having a Slack message telling me “introduction deck for onboarding is due” would be very helpful.
Anything I’ve tried either greys out the subitem options and gives me the message “Your previous selections don’t include subitem context. Please select from the available columns”, or just doesn’t include any subitem options at all. Please help!
When you select the date column, make sure you are selecting the date column from the sub-item columns listed at the bottom of the date drop down. I’ll include a screenshot below:
Then when you click notify, you will scroll to the bottom and sub-item name won’t be greyed out anymore.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
Hi Kayla, thanks so much for your fast reply! However I’m still having issues here - the subitem section now doesn’t show at all when I click “notify in Slack”, even though I clicked subitem date in the ‘date’ section as you showed. Have I done something wrong my end?
