Automating Sub-Element Creation Based on Dropdown Selection

Hello everyone,
I’m trying to automate my CRM in Monday.com and I need help setting up a specific automation.
What I want to do is whenever an item is selected from a dropdown menu in a column, a sub-element should be automatically created with the name of the selected item.

Does anyone know how to set up this automation?
I would appreciate any help or guidance!

Do you have Pro or Enterprise? This will help whether you can use automations and/or workflows.

Hi Desiree! I use Monday for the company I work for, so I am guessing it is Enterprise.

Hi! No, I do not. I am guessing I do not have Enterprise then. However, please know that I only have the “user” role on Monday. I am not an admin.

Even as a user, you’d be able to see it. With it, you’d be able to do what you’re looking for natively. You might also consider the app ‘subitem automations’
