Automation: check the author of the update

Hi,
I discovered the automation feature and it seems to be able to solve a business logic issue for an application I’m building.

I want to update the status of an item when an update is published, but I would like to check who is the author of this update so that if it is author A, set the status to “In progress” and if it is author B set it to “Resolved” and so on.

I did not find anything that could do this, so I would like to know if it is the case. Is it “too advanced” for the automation system?

To the best of my knowledge this can’t be done out-of-the-box with automations. You would need to build something in Integromat / Zapier or write an app for this.

Ok thanks for the confirmation, I also believed it was not possible to do with the native tool!
I will check on how to integrate this myself, thanks!
