I’ve created a Workform that feeds inbound requests to a Monday.com board. Part of the intake for is ‘Campaign Name’. Right now, the first column is ‘Item Name’ which gets populated with “Incoming form answer.” I would like to create an automation that changes that text to the Campaign Name when the form is submitted.
You’d need to use a workflow to do so. It would be ‘when item created’ + change column value (and then pick the data you want to use to name it).

Hello @kmskala Yes, you can do this
If your form is creating items with “Incoming form answer,” set up an automation like:
When an item is created, set Item Name to Campaign Name.
You can also skip the automation by mapping your Campaign Name question directly to the Item Name column in the Form settings so it populates correctly on submission.

Hi @kmskala,
welcome to the Community! ![]()
You don’t need an automation for this. The cleanest solution is to use the Item Name (first column) as your Campaign Name column.
I’d recommend:
-
Renaming the Item Name column to Campaign Name
-
Removing the separate Campaign Name column from the board
This way, submissions will automatically use the Campaign Name as the item name.
Hope this helps!!
Thanks, Desiree. The issue I am running into is I’m not able to find ‘Item’ as an available Column and it’s only displaying the custom column fields I created in my form.
Check whether the question is hidden, it should be labeled as “Name.”
Once you locate it, you can unhide it and rename it accordingly.
What Yogesh advises will work if you want to use the item name as a question on the form.
The workflow thing I mentioned is not part of the form itself, it’s in the workflow center. https://support.monday.com/hc/en-us/articles/18382067611410-Comparing-the-workflow-builder-and-automations
