My team created a new template in the template center. We configured it quite heavily. Once we started using the template day to day, we noticed a few problems.
Our pinned views didn’t come across in the new board. This would be fine if our team members could reset the pinned view in the new board… except the board members and owners didn’t come across in the new board either, so the team members don’t have the ability to set pinned views anymore. It means the system admin (who defaults to being the only board owner) has to do it manually on every new board.
To layer onto this, the board permissions in the template don’t come across either. That means team members, who were given restricted permissions for a reason, now can do anything on the board.
Hoping that Monday addresses these challenges with board templates to make this concept more useful in actual day to day use.
