I’m very new to Monday.com but have been using Google Sheets to do a lot of what I’m now trying to do here.
I have set up a connect board column to select contacts from another board. I then have 2 mirror columns that pull emails and phone #s. If I bring them into a monday.doc then I have to do a lot of copy and pasting and also they don’t remain in the same order as the names. I know I can just make several connect boards with mirror columns for each, but I do like that selecting all the people in one connect board column then I can create a chart of how often those people are selected.
Is there a way to seperate the names in the connect board column into seperate columns? Or to search multiple columns for a chart if using seperate connect board columns for each person?
What is your use case with the monday doc? What I generally do is edit the item view (inside the item) and add a ‘connected items’ widget. It will then show all connected contacts as a table and you can choose which columns to show.
Hi Desiree,
Thanks for the reply. I’m was seeing if i can use the Monday.doc to creat an event sheet, pulling info from different collumns. Somewhat like an info card, but where I have more control over the formatting. Seperate columns makes that easier but looks like it’ll make counting events they work harder.
I was just toying with the conntected items widget as you mentioned and it’s definitly a start. Thanks for that tip. I will need to explore this a bit more. Ultimately what I’d like to be able to do is see how many events each contractor worked in a year and over all time, using charts.
Gotcha! Then yes, I’d highly recommend using item widgets ‘in’ the contractors to pull in event data (and vice versa). You can also add charts in the item to break down details further.
