I want to create a segment in campaigns for contacts by state of their account. The state is part of the account board address location field.
I haven’t dug too far into Campaigns yet, but in ‘normal boards’, I’ve had to pull that info out to it’s own column. Ie No way to filter/chart based on the state in a location column. I’d start by adding a dropdown with all states, then searching by the location column for each state and bulk updating. Then set up processes in future to auto add state based on location for new items.
Hello @finowarrior
You can’t segment Campaigns directly by the State inside the Account’s Location field because Campaigns can only filter by fields that exist on the Contact itself.
The simple workaround is:
-
Create a custom field on the Contact called something like “Account State.”
-
Sync the State from the Account board into that Contact field using an automation, mirror plus automation, or Make.
-
Then build your segment using
Account State is Texas
One important note. Mirror columns alone will not work for segmentation. The value must live in a real Contact field.
