I understand why you’d want this to happen initially. But, in my case, I needed to fix some issues. I assumed that re-importing would ignore all the contacts I had change to “not marketing contact”. It didn’t. Rather, it just over-wrote all of those edits in CRM and changed hundreds of contacts over to “marketing contact”.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t a way to select WHICH contacts I wanted to import either. I couldn’t drill down by group or anything else. It was all or nothing. This forced me to switch over to doing an Excel export from CRM into Campaigns. This break between CRM and Campaigns is wild.
What are you trying to achieve
I would love to see a more robust sync between CRM and campaigns. Changing the contact over on the CRM side does not update on the Campaign side and vice versa. This is… again, wild.
