Can you set up generic 'item view' tabs?

I have a separate ‘Risk log’ board that is a different board to each project plan board. By using the ‘connect boards’ widget in the Item View window I can display the whole Risk Log in the Item Views in the project plan board. This is a really simple way for a PM to see their Risk log entries from their project plan board. (they can also update the risk log from within the Item View). However, that particular Item View set up is only retained for the project plan board item from where the Item View was opened. Is there any way to make the ‘Risk Log’ tab generic to the Item View when it is opened from any of the project plan items?

Hey, I don’t think so not today, at least not natively.

Item Views are saved per‑item, not as a global template for all items on a board, so you can’t make a single “Risk Log” tab automatically appear in every item’s view panel.

Workarounds you can try:

  • Board view instead of Item View: Create a connected‑boards Dashboard / Board View showing the Risk Log filtered by “this project,” then pin that view for everyone.

  • Template item: Configure the Item View on a “template” item and duplicate that item for new projects (the view setup will copy, but existing items won’t inherit it).

  • App / custom solution: If you’re open to apps or custom development, a small app could render the Risk Log generically for any item based on a connected field.

You could build in a monday vibe view? Using a custom app to design the exact view wanted?

But strictly speaking, a single reusable Item View tab across all items is not currently supported.
