Add the ability to convert or copy an existing board view (especially Chart Views) directly into a dashboard widget with one click.
For example: List item
From a Chart View (or other board view), have an option like:
- “Add to dashboard” or
“Convert to dashboard widget”
Select:
Which dashboard to send it to
Optionally which board connection to use (if relevant)
The dashboard widget would automatically inherit:
The same board(s)
The same group by and value settings
The same filters (e.g. dates, people, statuses)
The same chart type and configuration
Current Situation / Pain Point
Right now, when we create a great chart or view on a board, we have to rebuild it from scratch on a dashboard:
Manually re‑selecting the same board
Re‑configuring Group by, Values, and Filters
Re‑choosing the correct chart type and settings
This is:
Time‑consuming and repetitive
Error‑prone (easy for numbers and filters to get out of sync)
Hard to maintain if we update the configuration on the board view and need to mirror
What are you trying to achieve
Add the ability to convert or copy an existing board view (especially Chart Views) directly into a dashboard widget with one click.
I would like to be able to select “Power-Ups” Dashboard and it creates a template outline from the board the charts were created.
This feature would be especially valuable for teams who rely heavily on reporting and need consistency between operational board views and high-level dashboards.
