In my Book Inventory Board, I have a subitem column to enter the name of a Book. I have to enter this name everytime I enter a new subitem, so that it counts it in the inventory. Any way to automate that?
EXAMPLE: Main Item name is: PAV-1
All subitems created under this main item, the Book Name column has to include PAV-1, otherwise it won’t count it for the inventory. Currently have to click on the cell and type it.
Best option: Use a Mirror column in the subitems to mirror the parent item name. This will automatically show “PAV-1” for every subitem and stay updated if the item name changes. Use this mirrored value for your inventory count.
Alternative: Create an automation:
“When a subitem is created → set Book Name to Item Name”
This auto-fills the Book Name every time, so you don’t have to type it manually.

So neither of these options were available to me. 1) When preparing a mirror column, “ITEM” isn’t available to choose to use as a mirror. 2) There is no automation available for set book name to item name (set something to something), only set date or set number.
I have Workspace management Pro. is that the issue? Are these not available to my subscription level?
This is how you’d do it with the workflow center. Since you have Pro, you only get 5 ‘Active workflows’ though. If you’re open to 3rd party apps you might look at the app called ‘Subitem automations’.
