Hi everyone, my name is Melissa Stringfellow, and I work as a Business Operations Administrator. One of my main roles is to help create job opportunities for DBEs (Disadvantaged Business Enterprises) by sending out Bid Matches.
Right now, I use a tool called Bid Express to download bid information. Then, I copy that data into Excel, and from there, I upload it into Microsoft Access.
However, I’d like to stop using Access because it’s outdated and slows down the process. I’m looking for better, faster ways to handle Bid Matches.
If you have any suggestions or ideas to improve this process, I’d love to hear them!
With monday, there’s a few ways. 1. Keep using excel and then set up an integration ie with Make.com to auto update monday.com 2. Instead of copying it into excel, you could copy it right into monday. You could even use AI functions like pulling data out of the PDF files to update due dates, questions etc.
You could simplify this by creating a monday.com board for all your bids and using a tool like Make.com or Zapier to automatically pull in Excel or PDF data. Then set up automations to match bids with DBEs and notify your team—everything stays in one place, and no more Access!
Create one Bid Matches board where each item is a bid. Import your Excel file directly into the board using a consistent column structure. If Bid Express exports regularly, use the Excel integration or automations so new rows create or update items automatically. Then use board views and filters to surface DBE-relevant bids and share them without re-exporting.
This removes Access, speeds things up, and gives you live filtering instead of static files.
