Crunchbase integration

I generally like the Crunchbase integration for one of my use cases but am frustrated with the way it inputs locations. Specifically the way that company locations are formatted, especially when they’re more obscure international locations, it’s… not awesome.

“Tallinn Eastern Standard Time?!” Wait, no… that’s not right

Ahhhh, it was right there for you unknown Monday dev, all you had to do was copy it over as is. :man_facepalming:

From Crunchbase

Is there any way to fix this? Yes, I know I can manually create my own column and “fix” this, but then that basically devalues this entire integration.

Have you requested this on the feature board? I think it would be great!

Hello @cire12
This comes down to how the Crunchbase integration passes location data into monday. Crunchbase often sends a single unstructured text value, and monday can’t currently normalize or reinterpret it, which is why international or less common locations sometimes show up oddly.

At the moment there’s no way to correct this at the integration level. The only real workaround is to keep the raw Crunchbase value and maintain a separate clean location column with automations or formulas. Not ideal, but it preserves the rest of the integration.

This is a good candidate for a feature request since it impacts data quality across integrations.
