Docugen Integration Not Retained When Creating Boards from Templates in Monday.com

I’m currently using Docugen with Monday.com to generate board templates. However, I’ve noticed an issue when installing new boards from these templates.

Although the original board is fully configured with the Docugen integration, any new board created from the template does not retain the Docugen setup. As a result, attempting to generate a document on the newly created board does not produce any output.

It appears that Docugen must be manually reconfigured for each new board created from the template. Is there a way to have the integration automatically carry over so that newly generated boards are ready to use without additional configuration?

Please let me know if this is expected behavior or if there’s a recommended workaround.

I’ve not tried using Docugen for a templated board. Perhaps asking Docugen if that’s on their roadmap?

Hello @Timothy7
This is expected behavior. Board templates copy structure and automations, but app integrations like Docugen don’t retain their connection settings when a new board is created. For security reasons, Docugen must be reconfigured on each new board.

Best workarounds
Duplicate a fully configured board instead of using a template. Duplications keep app connections intact.
If you must use templates, re add the Docugen integration after board creation or check with Docugen about reusable presets.
