Email Notifications when update is posted

Description

When an updated is posted if there’s a way where it will send an email out about the description of what the update was if the user was not a part of the team or owner.

What are you trying to achieve

When a team member posts an update, we want it to send an email out showing what the update was to the manager even when they are not even a part of the project.

Hi @Hbeenk,

Welcome to the monday community!

Yes - if you’re on the Pro or Enterprise plan in monday.com, you can do this using a workflow.

You can set up a workflow that triggers “When an update is created” and then sends an email using the Outlook or Gmail integration. The email can dynamically include the Update Body, so the recipient sees exactly what was posted.

Hope this helps!

hi @Hbeenk! If you need more control than the basic “notify someone” automation, you might want to look at Email to Task.

It allows you to trigger structured email notifications when an update is posted and include the actual update content in the email body - even to someone who isn’t a board member or owner. That way managers can receive the full context without being added to every project.

It’s useful when you want external or higher-level visibility without changing board permissions.

There’s a 14-day trial, and happy to walk through the setup on a quick demo if helpful.
