I copied a Group today - it had 13 tasks - and each task had 4 subitems.
The new Group was for a different purpose - but the Tasks and columns had data that was all set with what I needed - I just wanted to Replace the Name of each Subitem with the new name for this new purpose.
What are you trying to achieve
To give specifics and put this in context - I have 13 sites that will get new switches - I created a group to track the purchasing of Supplies (patch cables, SFPs, etc.) - I copied that group with my 13 sites listed - along with implementation dates in columns to a new group to track the Creation of the HLD (High Level Design) - and the selection of switches that need to go to each site. The switches are all at Central Site where all goods were shipped by vendor. Now I just need to distribute them to each site - so I needed to new Subitems.
How great would Find/Replace be in Monday?
I could enter the exact string of the Old Task from the original group - and then Replace each subitem for each of my 13 sites - this would all the reuse of a Group for a new and specific. With Find/Replace the new Group could be updated in 5 minutes and I’d be ready to move on to other work.
