Would love this feature! Is there another workaround for the time being?
Hello Juliette!
Firstly, thank you for your honest answer.
Please consider what I will say as a project manager. Sometimes we need to take into account the time of an order in the impact and complexity variables. Otherwise, some features will simply never see the light of day. These features may be targeted by other systems in a comparison to discredit your product. I hope I have contributed to the discussion, especially because this topic has already passed or will celebrate its 5th anniversary. Best Regards.
Status update: At the moment the dashboards team is unable to add formulas within dashboards to upcoming roadmap due to other priorities and features already in development.
Our roadmap is subject to change due to evolving capabilities and capacity, so we may be able to add this feature into our future roadmap. In the meantime the option there are some great monday apps mentioned in this thread that can help you with your use case. One suggestion is to use a marketplace app like azyBI Reports and Charts.
As always, your feedback has truly helped our team build future roadmaps, so keep voting and sharing your ideas. If there are any changes in the upcoming months, I will share it on this thread first.
This feature has been requested since 2019… it seems like it should take precedence to get done if we are still talking about it in 2024 and it still has not been handled. I’m relatively new to Monday and I love the platform and have identified about 2-3 things that are crucial that our business needs. But this does not instill confidence that us posting our requests will be taken into serious consideration. Again, love the platform, I understand having a set road map, but anything longer than 5 years should be handled.
Hey monday community,
Arun from Decadis AG here! Great news! We’ve heard your requests and are excited to share a significant step towards meeting your needs. Our latest release of the ‘sumUp for monday’ app now features multi-board support, bringing us closer to your desired functionality.
What does this mean for you? If your monday boards share similar column types, you can now view the sum of those column across all these boards effortlessly through one of our widget in your dashboard. It’s that simple!
Setting it up is a breeze
- Connect your boards to the dashboard
- Add one of our widgets
- Select your preferred column to sum and pivot the data
Eager to see it in action? Check out our screencast for a quick demo!
Alternatively, we’d be thrilled to offer you a free, personalized demo. Just reach out to us using this link.
We’re committed to continuously improving our app based on your feedback. Your pain points are our priorities, and we’re dedicated to creating a tool you’ll love.
Best,
Arun and the Decadis AG team
Hello! At www.leanmote.com, we’ve developed an integration that addresses this issue. It provides pre-built metrics with, timestamps, comparison periods, targets, and notifications; you can also built your custom charts leveraging monday’s API. Additionally, you can connect other productivity tools like Slack, GitHub, and more to enhance your workflow.
Not sure if you are still stuck on this, but you should be able to present numbers as percentages. If you click on the Settings of the Widget, under Customize, there is the option to convert to %.
However the formula widget is still not available… Ugh
@Julietteb I know that they aren’t currently working on this but has it been added to their roadmap? Everyday I am wanting this feature more and more and it would help us consolidate our tech stack.
Great news! I’ve developed a solution for this exact problem - a Formula Widget that allows you to perform calculations with dynamic values from different boards and groups.
Key features:
-
List item Combine up to 5 dynamic values from any connected board/group
-
List item Use basic math operations (+, -, *, /)
-
List item Customize the output unit ($, €, %, or your own)
-
List item Simple setup through an intuitive interface
Here’s a quick look at the settings panel:
The app is currently in the final stages before the marketplace submission. If you’d like early access for beta testing, please email me at support@roba-solutions.com
You can see the widget in action here: https://youtu.be/6Dnd0vubiMY
I’ll keep this thread updated once the app is available on the marketplace!
Thanks to monday now exposing the formula column in their API, you can now create charts and reports using data in formula columns with the Screenful add-on. You can learn more from this blog post:
Update to my last Post: Dashboard Formula Widget is now officially available in the monday Marketplace!
Check out the latest demo video showcasing the current version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxIQztZVfbI.
I hope this will be useful for someone!
Hello @RobaSolutions . I have your app and got the basic formula to work, but it doesn’t seem to be capturing the filters. I have a board with three columns: 1. Borough; 2. Miles of Trails; 3. Miles of Trails Adopted by volunteers. I’m trying to have a widget on the dashboard where I can see a real time snapshot of the % of miles adopted by volunteers by borough at any time. I added the Numbers in the formula for {# of miles adopted} / {# of miles total}, and that works fine. But when I add in the filter to see this % by borough, the % number is unchanged for each borough that I filter. Thoughts?
Hello Elizabeth,
Thank you for reaching out about your formula widget experience. I understand you’re trying to view the percentage of miles adopted by volunteers for each borough.
Currently, the Formula App uses its own filtering system which is separate from Monday’s dashboard filters. This is why the percentage remains unchanged when you apply dashboard filters by borough.
As a workaround, I’d recommend organizing items with the same borough into groups on your board. This way, you can use the Formula App’s group filtering capability to see the specific calculations for each borough.
I’m actively working on enhancing the Formula App’s functionality to better integrate with Monday’s dashboard filters. I’ll update you as soon as dashboard filter compatibility is available for the Formula App. Your feedback is valuable for these improvements.
Please let me know if you need any assistance implementing the group-based approach or if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Leon Spitzer
Good news! I’ve fixed the filter issue for Dashboard Formula Widget. It now fully supports Monday’s dashboard filters
