Front Facing Spreadsheet Upload

Hi there, we are a product designer and have a board for new briefs being added.
I have created a form which is great for 1 off new product briefs.
However occasionally we have end users who want to have 10s or 100s of new products designed.

Q: is there anyway to have a front end spreadsheet upload to mass create items. Rather than a person in the team uploading it via the import new items spreadsheet?

Hi Bianca,

Sure no problem. Here is a map of my ideal process.
Submit a brief to create an item on a board.

  1. submit a single brief via a form (done)
  2. Submit a spreadsheet for multi line briefs

Spreadsheet Template with column headers matching Board.
Sales staff complete the spreadsheet template.
Sales staff head to a URL or an area in Monday to upload the spreadsheet

  • here is the kicker we don’t want them to head to the Board to upload for various reasons but the main one is to have a user friendly UX

I’m not sure that I got your case correct, but I feel like like the Smart Spreadsheet app can help with your case. You can connect a board from the 2nd step to a spreadsheet view (the board will be automatically recreated in the spreadsheet), then duplicate this sheet and make it a template. Or don’t connect a board but just create a spreadsheet view as a template with the columns matching a board.
