I would like to create automation around when a project reaches certain milestone, send pdf version of gantt chart to team member? Is that possible?

Hope you’re well and having a good week. You’re not alone in wanting to get a file out to a contact via automation. What you’re describing can be achieved with some clever automation sequences and the Public Files App by the team at luxie tech.
Check it out and install the trial - they will give you a demonstration if needed and can help to explain how you’d manipulate the automations and integration recipies to achieve sending out the pdf file based on the milestone date or completion.
