graphQL query search item using name

hi folk, i was wondring if we can perform queries using name/title or some other attributes rather than ids
forExample

{
  boards(ids: some_id) {
    id
    name
    items (ids:some_id){
      id
      name
    }
  }
}

what i am looking for is if we can do some thing like below

{
  boards(ids: some_id) {
    id
    name
    items (name:"some_name"){
      id
      name
    }
  }
}

thnaks for reading

hi @abdul

You can use items_by_column_values() or items_by_multiple_column_values() queries to get the items. Not sure if you can search on the name column though.

query {
    items_by_column_values (board_id: 1234567, column_id: "date", column_value: "2019-02-06") {
        id
        name
    }
}

no this is not what i am looking for, but thanks

And no you can’t specify the name column in the argument list

error: FetchError: request to https://api.monday.com/v2 failed, reason: connect ETIMEDOUT 104.16.11.42:443

do you have any idea why this error is occuring

Surprisingly, using the column id as “name” i have searched an item by the item name several times.

query5 = “query($board:Int!, $name:String!){items_by_column_values(board_id:$board, column_id:“name”, column_value:$name){id name}}”;
vars = {
“board” : int(test_board_id),
“name” : XXX
};

Even able to update the item name this way.
query5 = ‘mutation ($myBoardId:Int!, $myItemId: Int!, $columnVals: JSON!) { change_multiple_column_values (board_id:$myBoardId, item_id:$myItemId, column_values:$columnVals) { id } }’
vars = {
‘myBoardId’: int(XXX),
‘myItemId’: int(XX),
‘columnVals’: json.dumps({
“name” : new_pulse_name,
“date4”: {“date”: XXX},
})
}

hi @shilpa, thanks for taking a look, but i thing you are using column_value, that accept name value as arguments, but other things like boards, items does not accept name as argument.
