Greater Control about Advanced Filters (and + or)

How does this have the status “Released”? That is simply not true. If I switch the dropdown on one line of filters, it switches for all lines.
Not even the WorkFlows would cover this feature because there isn’t the option to combine conditions.

same here. wanted to use two OR filters, two basically different filters in one - and it’s not working, when I’m adding new filters with AND, and then adding a group to use OR there - I can’t change the rule. It can be only one.

And so we’re now here 4 years later in 2025 and STILL no acknowledgement from Monday?

We also need to be able to compare different project lines. If project name x = not done, and project name y is done etc etc. But we can’t because the basic filtering means one name blocks out the other.

The filtering is so basic it’s borderline useless and while we have 30+ people on the pro membership, we’re now looking at ClickUp because Monday is not giving us what we want at all.

Many of us here would easily be able to write our own queries if there was the framework to do it. Such a shame for an otherwise decent product.

While I would much prefer if they finally gave a simple combination of and/or in the normal filters, you might want to look at the Workflows feature. This is basically a decision tree branching to "yes"s and "no"s. Which can be the equivalent to “and”. Your "or"s can be integrated by selecting multiple options in a single “node” of the tree.

Hi everyone, it is actually true that this feature has been released!

You can go to “Advanced filters” and instead of creating a filter and then adding “New filter” at the bottom you have to choose a “New group” at the bottom. The naming is irritating since the term “group” is used for something else in monday and it would be much easier to understand if it was “filter group” but at least it works.

When choosing a group you will get a box in which you can combine filter conditions. If you now add another “group” you can create a second set of filters. These two sets can have a different choice for “and” and “or” on the top left. You can even combine groups of filters with single filters.

Note that if you already have filters set up, you will have to delete and recreate them inside a group because they will not be in a group.
