I’m trying to import date and time data (2 Excel columns) into a single Timeline column. According to this Feature request, this is now possible since May 2025.
However, when I import the Excel file, the options to map the start and end date are not showing up on the column assosiation prompt. Do I have to modify a setting somewhere? Here’s a screenshot (in Spanish) but I expalin further right below.
If the formatting suggestions above don’t resolve it, I’ve been building a dedicated Excel/Sheets importer that gives more control over column mapping — including combining separate start/end date columns into a Timeline column.
If you’d like, feel free to share a small sample file (you can anonymize it), and I’m happy to test whether it imports correctly.
Hello @mdelrio
You’re not missing anything. Timeline columns don’t appear in the Excel column mapping because imports only support basic column types like Date, Text, Status, etc.
What to do instead
Import your two Excel columns as separate Date columns first
Then add a Timeline column and populate it afterward
