I would like to create a high level board that pulls ITEMS from a number of low level boards into groups like “Past Due”, “This Week”, “Next Week”, “Nex Month”, etc. so that the team can see near future tasks that others are working on. Similar to what the “My Work” does for personal tasks.
Example of how the low level boards would be organized:
Hi Michelle - yes, this is possible with Same Item Multiple Boards app - there’s an automation that goes “when date has arrived, add the same item to board in group”. You can set the date with “1 day before date arrived/1 week after date arrives” etc
Hi @Pi300 — great question! What you’re describing is possible in monday.com with a few smart setups. You can create a high-level “Summary” board that pulls items from multiple low-level boards using the Connect Boards + Mirror Columns combination. While monday doesn’t automatically group items by date range (like “Past Due” or “Next Week”) out of the box, you can achieve this with automations and filters:
Connect Boards: On your high-level board, use the Connect Boards column to link all your low-level boards.
Mirror Key Columns: Mirror the Item Name, Due Date, Owner, and Status columns.
Automations: Use date-based automations or dashboard widgets to automatically group or filter items (e.g., “If Due Date is within the next 7 days → Move item to ‘This Week’ group”).
Dashboards as an Alternative: You can also use a Dashboard with a Table widget or Timeline widget pulling data across boards. This gives you a My Work–style overview for all users based on due dates.
While it won’t be 100% automatic like My Work, this approach provides a similar cross-board visibility for your team.
If you want a high-level view that automatically pulls tasks from multiple boards and groups them into “Past Due”, “This Week”, or “Next Week”, try Time in Status for monday.com.
It basically acts like an advanced “My Work” for teams - you can pull in items from all boards, filter by due date or status, and even see how long tasks have been in each phase. Makes weekly planning a lot smoother.
