I am looking to convert my EML files into some accessible formats or email services with complete data security. I want my files to be converted into the same hierarchy quickly in bulk. Any suggestions?
Ok, so let me suggest the software that I personally used as an IT professional, the 4n6 EML Converter tool and RecoveryTools EML Converter. Both of these tools are used by our team, and we are 200+ professionals working on a large scale. We have hundreds and thousands of EML files to convert daily, and both these tools are used by our company. Both of them provide 100% data security, quick and bulk conversion without data corruption, and size restrictions.
Actually, these two tools are known for security, so it is difficult to choose one of them, but you can choose any one of them on the basis of your requirements. Now you will ask me what the difference is between the two tools? The main difference is only that 4n6 provides the main file formats and email services to convert into, but has special features like advanced search, extract properties, et, which RecoveryTools doesn’t have. On the other hand, RT has 30+ file formats to export, which attracts users. Both these tools are top-notch without any doubt, and both work phenomenally for any kind of industry.
Hello @divdm If security and folder structure are important, I’d avoid online converters and stick with local tools.
Thunderbird is a solid option. It supports EML files natively, lets you import in bulk, and keeps the original folder hierarchy. Since everything runs locally, nothing gets uploaded elsewhere.
Outlook also works well if you’re in the Microsoft ecosystem. You can import EML files, preserve folders, and then migrate into Exchange or Microsoft 365 with full metadata and attachments intact.
For very large volumes or stricter compliance needs, tools like Aid4Mail are designed specifically for bulk EML conversions and hierarchy preservation, and they run offline.
I’d recommend testing a small batch first to make sure dates and folder structure come through exactly as expected before doing the full migration.
If you can share where the emails need to end up long term, it’s easier to narrow down the cleanest approach.
