How to automate pulling email from linked board + extract timeline end date as deadline?

Hi! :waving_hand:

I’m trying to achieve two automations, and I can’t figure out how to do them using native monday.com features. Maybe someone has a workaround or solution?

:white_check_mark: 1. Automatically copy email from linked board

I have two boards:

  • Subcontractors – contains a column with the subcontractor’s email address
  • Projects – connects to Subcontractors using a Connect boards column and a Mirror column for the email

I want to send emails automatically to the subcontractor from the Projects board.

The issue is: I cannot use Mirror columns in automations , and I see no option to copy the mirrored email into a regular email column that I could use in email-based automations.

:red_question_mark: Is there any way to copy the email value from the mirrored column into a real Email column , either via native automation or a workaround?

end date

of a Timeline as a deadline

I also have a Timeline column (start – end) in the Projects board, and I want to extract the end date and use it as a deadline (e.g., in another Date column, or for reminders).

I don’t see a way to do:

“When Timeline changes → set Deadline to Timeline end date”

Is there a way to automate this? Either with built-in automation, a formula, or via an integration like Make?

For 1 - What I do is I have a button on my contacts (subcontractors) that when clicked creates a deal (project) automatically. Part of that automation also adds the email from the contact to an email column on the project (so it’s not a mirror). That way you can set up automations to send to that email address.

  1. Do you have Pro or Enterprise? I’m thinking of a way you can do it with the workflow center.
