"I was mentioned" widget settings disabled?

I added the “I was mentioned” widget to a board view, but when I go to Settings and try to check either of the customization option boxes (“Only mentions I didn’t reply to” or “Only replies”), nothing happens. The boxes appear to be available/enabled, but I cannot populate them. Anyone know why this would happen?

Hello @kerickson23 This is usually a limitation or bug with the I Was Mentioned widget, not a permissions issue. Even though the checkboxes look enabled, the filters for Only mentions I didn’t reply to and Only replies don’t always apply and the widget may still show all mentions.

A quick thing to try is removing the widget, adding it again, and reopening the settings. Sometimes the filter options don’t register until a refresh.

If it still doesn’t work, filtering by date or replying to older mentions is the main workaround for now.

Hi @kerickson23 ,

I just tried the same thing and am getting the same results as you.

I recommend opening a ticket with monday support.

Just wanted to provide an update after talking with Monday support. This was the response I received: “…our developers are aware of the unexpected behavior , and it is in the backlog. For the moment, they are focused on core features of the platform, so we don’t have an ETA to share.”

They shared that in the meantime we can use the “Mentioned” tab under Notifications and toggle to Unread Only to get a similar result as the “Only mentions I didn’t reply to” feature (assuming, of course, that you haven’t read an update without replying to it). Not perfect but a temporary workaround.

Hi @kerickson23
thanks so much for the update

That lines up with what I’ve seen too: it seems like the widget filters are behaving inconsistently due to a known issue (not permissions).

Good tip on the workaround — using Notifications → Mentioned + Unread Only is definitely the closest option for now.

Appreciate you looping back
