Integrations Error Handling

Hi,
I need to present an error message to the user when certain error conditions happen while an integration is runninng.
I tried with posting severity errors as described in the error handling document and in fact i get the notifications but only in the notification center. I don’t get an alert when the condition happens.
Is this expected or not ?
Is there any way in order to trigger an alert to be presented for the user to take action ?

Unfortunately the only way an integration can communicate to the end user is through sending a notification. There are several request to allow integrations access to the “top center message bar” but no news yet.
