Remove the crop functionality on the app logos, or make it optional.
If an app logo is already square and does not need cropping, it should not be required.
Because you have to mess around with cropping, you end up messing things up. Here’s an example of a messed up crop (notice extra whitespace around the edge):
Now I have to publish a new version just because of having to crop a perfectly good image.
