A template is just what monday defines as a template board. There are now two different integrations to create detail boards. This one:
requires that the monday template contains the string “[RMB]” in its description
The other one:
does not have that requirement and shows every monday template board from your account.

Hi all, we have a new app that allows you to link any number of Source Boards to a Master Board (or two as you can route items to Master Board #1, and sub-items to Master Board #2 depending on what you are tracking). This means there are no connected board limits, or dashboard limits to worry about.
Connecting your Source Board when part of say a ‘Project Template Board’ takes about 7 clicks (any Board Owner has the permission to link to any Master Board, without needing access to the Master Board). Automapping is done automatically by column name and type in the board view which is why it can be done quickly.
We track Board Name, Group Name which can be easily summarised in your table view when you collapse all Groups. We also track the Item URL’s for easy access to the original item.
