Need to see which dropdown labels are not being used?

I have a lot of dropdowns for each region in my service area. I need to be able to quickly tell which regions do not have any items on the board. I made a chart with the number count of items as Y and regions label as X but it only shows regions which DO have items. The “show empty values” option is not what I am looking for- this only shows a number count of how many items don’t have a region listed.

E.g., I want a chart that shows:

  • Charlotte- 0
  • Myrtle Beach- 0
  • Raleigh- 1
  • Greenville- 2
  • Wilmington- 3

But currently the 0’s aren’t showing up.

Hello @livy.rob This is a current limitation in monday.com. Charts only show labels that exist on at least one item, so dropdown or status values with zero items will not appear. The “show empty values” option only counts items with no value selected, not unused labels.

Best workarounds:

Create one helper item per region so every region exists on the board. Then chart item counts. Regions with no activity will show 0.

Or create a separate Regions board, connect it to your main board, and mirror the item count. Chart the mirror or a formula column. Regions with no connected items will correctly show 0.
