Optimal display of assigned items and subitems

Hello everyone,

we use Monday WM for our multi-project management. The projects are spread across multiple boards. In these boards, each item represents a project, and the sub-items represent different parts of the project.

Now, there are people responsible for entire projects and/or sub-projects. We are struggling to clearly display the assigned projects for each person.

To address this, I created a “My Projects” dashboard, which is linked to all boards and dynamically filters for “me.” While this works, it hides other sub-projects that would be very helpful as additional information.

Do you have any ideas on how to achieve the following improvements?

  • An overview of the items assigned to me or where a sub-item is dynamically assigned to me. However, all sub-items of an item should still be displayed.

Thanks,
Jan

Hi,
You could consider using a combination of tags or custom fields to specify which project each sub item belongs to.
Also you will want to ensure that your “My Projects” dashboard includes these tags or custom fields so that all relevant sub items are visible even if not directly assigned

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Harsh

Hi!
On the dashboard, you can easly apply the “me” dymanic filter to just the charts or widgets you’d like and the duplicate the same chart or widget without the filter.

In this dashboard, the “My projects” table view has the dynamic filter apply whereas the view on the right shows all the project regardless of the project owner.

To achieve this, make sure you filter both the item and subitem “people” column to Me (Dynamic)

I hope this works!

Hi Shiro,
Thank you for your response. This doesn’t seem like a perfect solution, but it can serve as a good workaround. I will deploy this version in production and see how people react to it.
