Hi,
Does anyone know how to track the status of multiple columns and multiple pulses? I have a large board with hundreds of pulses. Each pulse has multpile status columns. I can use the progress tracking column to summarise all the status columns per pulse. But how can I get a summary of the overall status of the board (including subitems)? It seems you can only see the summary per line. I realise that there is a summary of the progress tracking column at the bottom of the page, but the subitems aren’t summarised. I also want to see the overall status on a summary page using widgets, but all the widgets like the battery, will only summarise one status column at a time.
How can I do this?

Hello,
Managing the status of multiple columns and pulses on a large board can be challenging, especially when you want an overall summary that includes subitems. Let’s explore some approaches to achieve this:
Master Board Workflow:
Consider creating a Master Board that connects to all your project or client boards using the “Connect boards” and “Mirror columns” features.
In this approach:
Each project or client board contains standard activities with relevant columns.
The Master Board mirrors the necessary information from the project boards.
You can manage work from both the Master Board and individual project boards simultaneously.
This allows you to obtain insights from an unlimited number of projects in one dashboard and one portfolio board.
Cross-Board Automations:
Use automations to connect data across boards.
For example, you can set up an automation that triggers when a status changes to something specific. This way, you can track status changes across multiple columns and pulses.
Custom Widgets and Dashboards:
While built-in widgets like the battery widget summarize one status column at a time, you can create custom widgets using the “Custom Chart” widget.
In the custom chart, you can aggregate data from multiple columns and display an overall summary.
Define your own logic for calculating the overall status based on the specific criteria you need.
Remember that the right approach depends on your specific use case, the level of detail you require, and your team’s workflow.
Hope this work for you.

Hi @nickomexom @florence023
You can try outthe Time in Status for tracking the status of multiple columns by time. This app tracks time the Item has spent in each workflow status without logging hours. So you can monitor how fast the Item moves between statuses using app with reports.
You’ll get user-friendly data on the board in a few seconds.
Also you will be able to track how much time your issue spends in each status and much more by generating 3 types of reports:
And use charts to visualize your reports a sample of a certain number according to time range/item range, or a single item:
- Pie Charts
- Bar Charts
- Area Charts
The app is also available in the format of board integration.
You can try it on the Monday Marketplace and share your experience with us.
Hope you find this app helpful.
