Owner of private Board Admin taking over

Description

Hi there,
I would like to request the feature of taking over a private board as admin.
We have had the case that the only person with the owner rights of a private board was not available.
Without being able to take over owner rights as admin (to add users or grant others these owner rights) working can come to a halt.

What are you trying to achieve

It would be amazing if this feature could be added, since this would prevent having to rely on a specific person but would simultaneously provide us with the safety of an admin with the option to help out if needed…

Hi Eve, :waving_hand:

Welcome to the community, and thanks so much for sharing your first post! My name is Alea, and I am part of the monday.com Customer Experience team.

The good news is that this feature already exists in your Administration settings. :tada:

As an admin, if you click on your profile picture in the upper right corner → Administration → Directory → Board ownership, you’ll find a couple of helpful options to regain access to private boards:

  • Manage board owners → This feature allows you to add a new owner to any Private or Shareable board, as long as you know who the current owner is. Simply select their name from the “Current owner” dropdown, then choose the new owner in the next step. This is especially useful if the original owner is unavailable and you need admin access to keep work moving forward.

  • Manage boards without owners → If a user has been removed from the account and their boards no longer have an owner, this option allows you to assign a new owner to those Private or Shareable boards. This should help you regain access and get things running again. :raising_hands:

Please feel free to reach out here or through our support team if you have any questions. We are so happy to have you as part of the community, Eve — keep contributing and sharing your ideas! :flexed_biceps:
