Summary:
Currently, users on Monday.com can freely browse the App Marketplace, even when using Enterprise plans. Admins have very limited control over restricting access to the Marketplace or preventing users from submitting app install requests.
Problem:
- Users are able to view and request third-party app installs without admin oversight.
- This creates potential security, compliance, and workflow management issues, especially in organizations with strict software policies.
- It also generates unnecessary request tickets for apps that the organization will not allow or support.
Feature Request:
- Add a setting for Admins to completely hide the App Marketplace from non-admin users.
- Alternatively, provide the ability to restrict access by user role (e.g., only Admins and specific roles/groups can view or access the Marketplace).
- Allow Admins to disable the ability for users to request app installations if desired.
Impact/Benefit:
- Stronger security and compliance control for organizations.
- Reduces workload and unnecessary app request tickets for IT administrators.
- Provides a cleaner and more focused experience for end-users who should only interact with pre-approved tools.
Example:
An organization may approve a limited set of integrations internally but cannot fully enforce it within Monday.com today. Hiding the Marketplace from end-users would prevent confusion and eliminate non-approved requests at the source.
