Description

Looking for a duplicated Contributor role that we can use to assign two classes of permissions. Primarily we want one that allows managers to view all items.

Currently we are using a modified editor role, but that allows the rearrangement of columns turned on by default.

It also shuts us out from creating actual board editors.

Hello!

You can’t duplicate built‑in roles directly, but the solution is to create a new custom role based on Contributor and add only the extra permission you need (like “view all items”). Avoid modifying Editor, since it always includes layout privileges, and assign this custom Contributor‑plus role to managers so they can see everything without gaining board editing rights.
