Sending phone numbers via zapier to monday

Hey, I´m trying to send contacts with zapier to Monday but get many times problems with the phone number.

Invalid value for {“phone”=>“+491765579XXXX‬”} on PhoneColumn. invalid value, please check our API documentation for the correct data structure for this column. Guide to Changing Column Values

I tried the number with 0, +49 or nothing and its not working with this contact. Other accounts are working. I can´t find the problem.

I just created a Zap with a test account.

You can pass values like:

  • 4917655791111 DE
  • 12025550169 US
  • 541149030303 AR

And it works well.

I just tested this again using 17655791111 (as in what you sent) and it worked fine as well.

I will need you to please send screenshots or a screen recording to check your entire configuration since I can not reproduce the issue. I might be able to see what is causing the issue if I see this.

With all the private data of the zap its a bit difficult. Can I send a screenrecord to you private somehow?


Sometimes it is working and sometimes always the phone error. I used with both the same way to write the number down.

Can you send a screenshot of what you are sending to the phone column (you can use a fake number if you don’t want to show the one you are using, but it has to have the exact same format and number of characters).

I too am having the same issue with getting an error code coming through into Monday. I have attached 2 screenshots. One is a Zapier test that comes through fine with number, and the name is formatted correctly. IN the second screenshot you will see that I went through our contact us form through squarespace into Monday, and the results provided no number and the name field was coming through with the headers. Any advice on how we can change this.

We have also tried changing our form on our website to just have text fields instead of number format. We copied 4917655791111 DE from this last comment as well. Each time it errors.

It looks like the issue lies on passing values between parenthesis.

Instead of (917) 257-1935, you should pass 9172571935 and the two letters for the country afterwards.

I am not sure how you can format this in Zapier before you send it our way, but I believe there could be a tool for that. You can ask Zapier’s team about it.
