Is there any work around or plugin that can help resolve Monday’s lackluster color coding implementation for status/label dropdowns? Maybe I’m “holding it wrong”, but my two biggest issues are:

Sometimes I need 1 or more items in a list to have the same color code. Seems like a silly restriction.

For the love of God, not every item in every list needs a corresponding background color. Sometimes I’d like a dropdown selection to have no background color. Some of my boards could benefit from not looking like a Care Bear puked all over them.

Give me an option to pick some of my own colors in addition to the default color pallet. That’s a table stakes feature everywhere else.
All that being said, I still feel like I’m doing something wrong because this all seems so obvious and trivial.
