It would be helpful to have the option to create a sub-item through an automation, with fields automatically populated using values from the parent item, similar to how it’s currently possible when creating a new item via automation.
Convert Item to Sub-Item Using a Connected Board as Parent
It would be useful to have the ability to convert an existing item into a sub-item, assigning it to a parent item that resides on a connected board.
Convert Sub-Item to Parent Item on a Different Board
Please consider adding the ability to convert a sub-item into a parent client that is on a different board, rather than being limited to the same board.

Duplicate the item → remove some data → map/manipulate some data → convert to sub-item
Convert Item to Sub-Item Using a Connected Board as Parent
Remove data → map/manipulate data → move to board → convert to sub-item - Restriction may be that it can only be connected to 1 item.
Convert Sub-Item to Parent Item on a Different Board
Convert Sub item to item → Move item to Board.
Use Sub-Item Date Fields in Automation Conditions
