Sum time spent on parent items and subitems across multiple boards

Hello all!

What solutions have you found for summing time spent on parent items and subitems for individuals across multiple boards?

It seems like this can only be done with a parent item time tracking column and I would love to see the total time each person has spent on both parent items and subitems across multiple boards for a given week.

Thank you for your help!

@jewelly24 You can do that with the Screenful add-on. As long as the time tracking columns have the same name, the data can be aggregated across multiple boards into a single chart from both top-level items and subitems. You can learn more from this guide.

Yes, you can use the Screenful add-on to aggregate time tracking data across multiple boards. Just ensure the columns have the same name for proper syncing. Check the guide for detailed instructions.

Hi Julie, if you prefer using number columns instead of time tracking you can use Master Data to feed all your items and subitems into the same Master Board. Set up per board is quite quick. The problem we found with time tracking columns is that users forget to turn them off quite often which is annoying to audit, so we just type in the number of hours. Let me know if you would like a demo, or if you need help with set up :).

Thanks, Bruce! For now we are sticking with the time tracking columns, but, yes, I understand the struggles with timers left running

I will look into this! I Appreciate the ability to delimit the data by timeframe and the individual that logged the time. Just to confirm, this can be done across multiple boards, correct? Thank you!

Yes, you can track time tracking data across multiple boards as long as the name of the time tracking column is the same.

@jewelly24 how do you define “time spent on items and subitems” - is it in a specific status? using time tracking column? something else?

Hi there - yes, I am referring to time tracking columns that we use for tasks and subtasks.
