When i create tasks within an epic, i would like them to be automatically assigned with the same sprint that the epic is planned for (if there has been one assigned). It should be possible to manually change the sprint on the task if for some reason it needs to be done in a different sprint
What are you trying to achieve
It is really painful to have to try and manually add sprints to individual tasks. quite often we will forget to do this and then the tasks end up missing from the task board that the devs are working from .
That’s a great suggestion! Currently, monday dev doesn’t have a built-in feature to automatically associate newly created tasks within an epic to the same sprint. However, you can set up a custom automation to achieve this. By using a connected board and mirrored columns, tasks can inherit the sprint value from their parent epic. This helps maintain consistency and saves time when managing multiple related tasks. Hopefully, monday.com considers adding this feature natively in future updates—it would definitely streamline sprint planning and task organization.
