More column types should be available to be synced through managed templates such as labels/dropdowns, People (to assign teams a priori) etc.
What are you trying to achieve
I use labels a lot both for their own purpose, but also as workarounds for other lack of specific automation processes.
In using managed templates I manage a portfolio of over 100 concurrent projects and I think managed templates are awesome and the way forward for the agile management of monday.com work management platform deployment in my organization.
Hi there!
I completely understand your need here. When you’re managing 100+ projects with managed templates, having column types like Labels, Dropdowns, and People columns synced is key for keeping things consistent and automation-ready.
At the moment, not all column types are fully supported in managed template sync. A practical workaround is to preconfigure those columns directly in the template board before turning it into a managed template, and use automations to assign People or standardize labels when items are created. Some teams also use Status columns where possible, since they tend to behave more reliably across synced boards.
It’s not a perfect replacement, but it can help maintain consistency at scale while working within the current limitations.
