So I have a time entries board with a group ‘Client Non-Billable’ and under non billable are items of ‘Logged time’ many of these items are linked to a single company. I have a separate board called companies where I want to roll up all the logged time against it in that group? How do I get the various items of Logged time to Sum and roll into the Companies’
Hi @KirstenLeighton - Have you tried utilizing the recently released “Group By” option on your board? This works for connect board columns and will dynamically regroup your board by Company to show the total.
Have you tried connecting your Companies board with the time entries board? You would be able to have a task called Non-Billable Hours for Company X, or however you want to name it, and connect each task from the time entries board that has hours for Company X. Then use a Mirror column in the Companies Board that mirrors the time tracking column. That mirror column will sum up all the hours of the tasks added to the connect board column. The only real downside is that if a new task is added for Company X in the time entries board, it must be added to the Connect boards column in the Company board.
I hope that solution works for your needs or if you have questions please let me know.
This is just an idea of what could be done, but I would need more details to give you more precise help!
How to do:
In the other board, you can create subitems for the respective item you want to sum. Within these subitems, you can set up a 2-way connection so that when you link both boards, the information from one board will be visible on the other. In the main item, you’ll need to have a mirror column to total the field from the subitems.
