I am new to Monday and it appears you can’t view or preview a pdf within Monday. I am surprised that it seems we have to pay for another app to be able to see something as common as a pdf. Maybe I have a setting wrong? I’m hopeful that is the case, as I would like to have our registrations for each of our participants attached to their “item”. But you have to download it to see anything, which will lead to cluttered download folders and the waste of time it takes to download something and then open it.
Any workarounds? Do I have to save every pdf as a jpeg so I can see all the pages?
monday.com supports file previews (PDFs, images, documents, etc.) via hovering or clicking the file icon in the Files Column! I want to confirm if your account is HIPAA-compliant? If so, file previews are disabled by default for security reasons. A technical team member must manually enable this feature for the entire account.
If your account is not HIPAA compliant please dm me and I’ll be happy to take a closer look!
Good point! I remember clicking “make this account HIPAA compliant” or something along those lines, but I didn’t see any difference. How can I turn off that feature?
Hey Laura - as long as you’re an admin you can follow the steps below!
To turn off HIPAA compliance in monday.com, follow these steps:
Click on your profile picture at the top right corner of your screen and select “Administration.”
Navigate to the “Security” section and choose “Compliance.”
Click on “Deactivate HIPAA Compliance.”
Once HIPAA compliance is deactivated, all admins in the account will receive an email notifying them of this action. Deactivating HIPAA compliance will re-enable features such as the broadcast feature and less restrictive notifications, but it will also mean that your account is no longer covered under HIPAA regulations. It is important to review your data-sharing permissions to maintain privacy and security!
