We make liberal use of Updates. In the web app, the conversation bubbles use a blue v. grey status indicator to identify tasks with recent updates. In the iOS mobile app, all update indicators are grey. It is especially important to have have a recency indicator (blue status) on the mobile app to draw attention to items b/c screen real estate is so limited.
