What is the best CRM workflow for multiple Products for a single Deal item?

I’m trying to figure out a good workflow, whether that be products referenced in a connection board itself or in the sub-item columns and instead mirrored back to the main item instead? Wondering if anyone has run into the same issue and found a good pipeline workflow.

We have multiple products we sell and sometime will sell them at the same time for an order/quote or we are looking with the client on the best option (if they want a subscription plan or perpetual plan). Whether that be a specific tier (individual product/pro product) or billing cycle plan type (perpetual product /subscription product), same product but some qualify for special discounts (one falls within a retro-pricing discount while the other is new full price) or separate product types entirely (product 1/product 2).

Subitems seemed the most logical but not only does it take forever to load subitems, there are some limitations with sub-items what is can do. If I use the main item columns though, I can’t separate the items and their discounts and only solution is to apply the whole discount all together and thus limits my ability to see things like what quantities and discounts of each item we did with specific customers. Instead it’s just a general quantity and general discount.

Currently the only suggestion I can think of is if we want to see line items and their individual discounts is to go directly to our invoicing software and pull reports for each customer but because we work with resellers we are not getting accurate data on the customer. So I’d rather we have ability to see reports on each customer though our CRM with ease for cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.

Looking for anyone that has a similar setup for their CRM and has found an effective way to tackle deals with multiple line item products and what their solution was? I know some softwares like Saleforce had this ability that was all integrated in the Opportunity’s board from a previous company but wondering of there is a good workaround for MondayCRM?

I use workflow and have the team fill in counts on the main item (each product is a column), then the workflow creates each of those items as a subitem with the ‘normal’ pricing. The team can then edit those subitems / adjust pricing as needed. It’s not the best option but it works until I can find something better
