When a new column is created, it shouldn't be added to every View

Having to adjust each view after column creation is clunky and painful. It seems unintended, and busy managers end up leaving a mess because they don’t have time to go back in and clean up many views on many boards each time a new column is needed.

Is it possible to NOT add a new column to every view in a board automatically? Very annoying to have to manually toggle visibility in every view every time a new column is added and intended for just one view.

For Views that have hidden columns, default it so newly added columns are automatically hidden for those Views

Add a column to a specific view without having to hide it on the rest of the views.

Currently if you add a new column to any view of the board - it will appear on all the views of the same board. So you need to go and hide this new column from the other views. I 100% agree, it’s absolutely insane that we have to deal with this at scale…

I actually had a fix pushed to my account about a year ago, and the result was that ALL of the columns in the affected board were completely reordered… Completely ruined the trust that I had spent building up with a stakeholder. Looks like the patch has since been removed from my Org.

I cannot beleive we have to deal with this in 2025 while the development team continues to push out boilerplate AI slop…

Even if there is a toggle that allows you to choose which views you want it to be available on before posting. It just takes so much time to go through and remove from all the views that the column showed up in. When you have dozens of views and hundreds of columns to work with, this takes up more time than it is all even worth

I discovered that if you add a column from a custom View (and not from the Main Table) that new column will only show on that specific View by default. So that is one small work-around if you need it to only show on one View. Otherwise, I agree 100% that there needs to be a more dynamic “view selection” process when adding a column.
