I noticed that when an item is moved from one board to another, its original URL automatically redirects to the new one on the destination board.
For example, if I have a saved link to an item that used to be on Board 1, and that item is later moved to Board 2, the old URL still works and redirects correctly to the item’s new location.
This behavior is really useful for my workflow, and I rely on it quite a bit.
Can anyone confirm whether this redirect feature is intentional and stable?
Is it something we can count on continuing to work on in the future?
As far as I know, the item URL only changes its board ID when it’s moved, while the item ID stays the same. That’s why the old link still works and redirects automatically.
However, be cautious, as there’s no official confirmation from monday.com that this behavior is guaranteed to remain in the future.

I was trying to understand why is it working to begin with, to understand if I can trust it. I wonder if it’s log related then it only works as long as the entry exists..
After confirming that internally - this behavior of items’ URLs is intentional and is not planned to be changed soon.
